Polygamia (Poland) "As you can see, all tests were in favour of the SSD. Some of the differences were singnificant. The drive is quieter, lighter, thinner, more robust and consumes less power. And there is one extra great feature. The drive has an USB connector. All you need is an cable (not included) – the one from your PS3 controller will fit – than you can plug the drive into your console and use is as a USB Media Storage."

Hardware Info: Best of 2008 "This year we have introduced a new category, Solid State Drives. As grown into the 'Grandmaster of SSD-Country', OCZ has the most popular product. The OCZ Core V2 was chosen by the largest part and rightfully wins the Hardware.info award for Best SSD of 2008."

in4 (poland) “OCZ Core Series V2 60GB have lots of advantages and that’s why I decided to recommend it. Mostly because I would love to have it in my PC as a Vista system drive. My 36GB Raptor became really annoying (loud) after meeting with the OCZ SSD.”

Computer DIY (Taiwan) “Learn how MLC can beat SLC! Two OCZ Core Series V2 SATAII 30GB SSDs in RAID 0 performance test!
Considering affordable prices of SSD drives and an improved wear leveling technology more and more users are switching to solid state drives. We used a pair of OCZ SATA II Core Series V2 30GB drives in RAID 0 configured mode to show that it’s possible to get the fastest drive on the market with an affordable price tag. Our Best Performance award goes to RAID configured system based on 2x OCZ SSD drives”

DOS/V Power Report Magazine (Japan) “With improved firmware OCZ SATA II Core Series V2 solid drives offer top performance. Users will also be happy with on-board mini USB 2.0 port”

Phoronix "The OCZ Core Series v2 SSD finally started shining through when it came to Parallel BZIP2 Compression. Compressing a 2GB file with PBZIP2 was twice as fast using the OCZSSD2-2C30G over the MHZ2160BH when not dealing with an encrypted LVM. When using disk encryption the SSD was still faster than the 5400RPM HDD. The advantages of SSDs were apparent in IOzone and parallel BZIP2 compression, but beyond that, the results from the other tests were quite close. Even in tests where the OCZ Core Series V2 SSD didn't have a striking lead over the Fujitsu HDD there still are the advantages of the lower power consumption, no noise, greater reliability, etc. For mobile devices solid-state drives are certainly ideal. Speaking directly about the OCZ Core Series V2 we were pleased by this product and what makes it attractive to many consumers is its lower price point."

PC Magazine (Greece) "We took one of the fastest SSDs on the market and compared it to one of the fastest hard disks on the market. During this competition, we did not ignore the peculiarities of each kind. WINNER: OCZ 60GB Core V2 SATAII SSD"

CHIP Magazine (Turkey) “We appreciated these SSD’s which managed to reach 80MB/s write and over 100MB/s read speeds. With the SSD price’s drop tendency, they are certainly the futures storage equipment.”

Pckoloji (Turkey) “Increasing the performance level with it’s new Core Series V2 SSD’s and knowing there is no alternative to OCZ products in our country, the award it will get is certain. I’ve cloned my Vista OS to OCZ SSD, and the boot time dropped by 5 seconds. Also opening times have decreased in games and applications. Also helped gain 10% battery power.”

PC Magazine (Turkey) “Normal disks have high random access times, because of the spinning disk inside. Therefore having access times above 10ms, they can’t beat the SSD’s 0.2ms access time. SSD’s are also quiet and use less energy. Another advantage is the mini USB port, which can be used to connect the SSD externally. We recommend these SSD’s for those who are building the highest performance pc and if money is not an issue.”

Donanimhaber (Turkey) “View entire video review”

MikroDatorn (Sweden) “The OCZ Core SATA 60GB performs very well in our read tests. When we read the files at random from the disk, we see one of the advantages of SSD: the rate is as high as when we read sequentially. It is natural because there is no reading head that must move around a disc."

Nordic Hardware (Sweden) “Solid State Drives are a really interesting choice for a Home Theatre PC that does not require large storage space. As SSD drives use of memory chips to store their data, these "hard drives" are completely silent, because there are no mechanical parts. Furthermore, access times are almost non-existent, giving a truly fast system. Our choice fell on an SSD from OCZ – one of their Core V2 series. With 120GB of storage capacity, this is great for the operating system and some other features. Most can do this with a 60GB models, or even a 30GB model if the operating system is streamlined a bit.”
