OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 / 1600MHz / Titanium Edition / Intel Extreme Series / XMP Ready

These DDR3 memory modules are a new memory solution that implements a high-performance specification optimized and predefined for the Intel X38/X48 chipset. Designed to significantly increase performance levels of the entire platform, these modules feature Intel Extreme Memory Profiles (XMP), an exclusive set of SPD (Serial Presence Detect) settings that act as an integrated "plug and play" overclocking tool.

Configured to Intel's defined specification, the industry's first XMP-Ready memory will be available as OCZ DDR3 PC3-12800 1GB (1024MB) Modules and 2GB (2x1024MB) dual channel kits, and are configured to run 8-8-8 latencies. Furthermore, each OCZ XMP module also features 7-6-6 latencies on a second profile that is qualified by OCZ for the extreme enthusiast.

"Using Intel's own XMP profiles, these 1600 MHz modules promise to be the easiest overclock yet through an automated setup.I was pleasantly surprised by just how easy it is to set up one of these profiles and get stable performance right out of the box. s with all high performance memory, the modules come clocked close to the maximum speed already, but with some simple clock timing changes I was still able to take things up another 15% in some tests! As with any overclocking setup your actual performance will vary but history has proven OCZ memory is a constant high performer."

"This is one kit that grabbed my attention when it first hit the market, and it has somewhat reinvigorated my interest in memory again. Where the kit shines is with its XMP profile. I was surprised to see that this particular kit costs less than most of the competition at these speeds, and even though the competition also offered CL8 timings, these were the only ones to offer an XMP profile to bring those to a much more reasonable 7-6-6. It delivers on its promises while going the extra mile on the side, which was unexpected. They proved completely stable at DDR3-1800 speeds (while those speeds at stock cost a lot more), its XMP profile worked beautifully and the titanium spreaders struck my fancy."

"OCZ XMP in the lead with the XMP system enabled under the full encode test where bandwidth is a priority, this allowing for faster access times. Overall the overclocking was good, performance was high, and the ability to sit back and let the memory do its own work in conjunction with X38 is nice."
