"This is not memory for the faint-hearted. If you are looking to build a system that can be pushed to the limits this is the memory for you. Depending on your overclocking style you may want to look into the PC4000, but for most people the PC3200 is all you need. The strengths of this memory is the fact that is can be run at 2-2-2-7 at stock speeds (and more if your system can handle it), that it can handle serious voltage to ensure stability under stress, and that it is reasonably priced. If that is not enough, it also looks pretty cool...In the right computer this memory could help you to really tear up some benchmarks and produce some great results, but given its needs OCZ's VX Gold is not the memory for everyone.

"From the tests that I did, the memory did very well, even though it was running on an Intel computer. The VX has given us the highest clock speed while maintaining the 2-2-2-5 latency. This memory isn?t for everyone, though...However, if you have the CPU power, and the volts, this is your memory. Stock is 200 MHz; this memory was easily capable of 240 MHz without breaking a sweat. The overclockability in combination with latency of this memory is unmatched. Giving the OCZ VX PC3200 the DevHardware Recommended Award was an easy choice. At a price of around $200, this memory is a great bargain for performance memory, and with this kind of performance, it simply can?t be matched."

"Well we already know the OCZ performs very well in realtime benchmarks, such as 3D Mark 05, and when playing games, 1024mb of ram linked in dual channel mode, doubling the transfer speed. These modules are paired to the limit, They overclock very well even for the low voltages. It would be easy to see these modules do 2-2-2-8 and maybe even 2-2-2-7, but a single stick still wouldn't be able to beat the Mushkin's ultra tight 2-2-2-6, the main reason is, because of the price if you were to buy the twin Mushkins that would certainly get you. This ram has great ability to do most things, It runs well on the Athlon 64's with no errors. These Modules recieve My Special Award, "100% Pure Beefiness."
