Important Note: Due to the size and orientation of the heatsink, Reaper X memory cannot be installed on motherboards that require the modules to be inserted in sockets side by side.

The ReaperX series provides enthusiasts leading-edge cooling technology, with each memory chip in direct contact with a thermo-conductive pipe that guides heat away and quickly dissipates it through the aluminum fin array.

Featuring an EPP (Enhanced Performance Profiles) programmed SPD, PC2-6400 Reaper X modules will immediately boot at the rated specs on the latest generation of NVIDIA® SLI™ chipsets. Although the OCZ Reaper X series caters to enthusiasts, EPP eliminates the need for manual configuration and makes the benefits of overclocking available to the complete range of consumers looking to get the most out of their systems.

As one of OCZ’s legendary Enhanced Bandwidth (EB) editions, the ReaperX 4GB kit increases effective memory bandwidth through the optimization of memory latencies between the system memory, the chipset, and memory controller, resulting in the ideal balance of speed and enhanced timings.

**ReaperX HPC (Heat Pipe Conduit) modules offload heat with extreme efficiency due to a new dual copper heat pipe design. Each memory chip is in direct contact with a thermo-conductive pipe that guides the performance robbing heat away from key memory components and quickly dissipates it through the aluminum fin array. The addition of the extended fin array nearly doubles the total surface area available for heat dissipation while the heat pipes warrant near isothermicity throughout the entire design. The result is a doubling in effective heat dissipation at equal delta t or, in real systems, a significantly lower operating temperature of the memory modules.

***OCZ EVP (Extended Voltage Protection) is a feature that allows performance enthusiasts to use a VDIMM of 2.2V without invalidating their OCZ Lifetime Warranty.

The Reaper series with heatpipe cooling helps cool the modules a lot better than the standard heatsinks. While our modules we tested today don’t utilize water, the heatsink design has done a fantastic job nonetheless; the modules ran rather cool at full speed overclocking. Overall the OCZ ReaperX PC2-6400 Kit is extremely impressive, and is ideally aimed at users who want lower latencies out of their DDR2-800 kit with the ability to overclock. "Starting with the OCZ ReaperX modules we moved the voltage to 2.2v which is the maximum supported under warranty and began raising the speed at default timings. At these settings we were able to reach 862MHz. Next we loosened the timings to 5-5-5-15 and attempted to boot at DDR2-1066. We encountered no problems and so then tried to find the maximum speed at these timings; the result was DDR2-1100."

"The heatspreaders performed well and no excessive heat was noticed when the voltage and FSB were raised up. The overall design is sleek and the contrast of the matte black finish compliments the silver heatpipe and fins. Price verses performance has always been the number #1 question when buying anything in life. Well, OCZ has taken at least one thing off our minds by providing us with a performance-orientated product with a low price tag. The low latency and higher clock speeds is what it's all about. OCZ has managed to create another very unique and well performing series with the ReaperX. The 4 GB kit performs exeptionally well at the intended CL rating. The design of the spreaders looks great and surely does cool the memory better with than without. Overall the ReaperX has some impressive performance for a 4 GB Kit.

"While the memory is rated "only" at 800MHz (PC2-6400), it proved to be capable of reaching up to 1100MHz. The 2x2GB kit promises CL4 at 800MHz with 2.00V, which was confirmed in our tests using an Asus Maximus Formula motherboard. Rising up voltage to 2.20V will also get a CL5 at 1000MHz and at 1067Mhz. The included memory cooling system called ReaperX HPC (Heat Pipe Conduit) is also a pleasant add-on and from our small experience, it seems to effectively keeping memory modules cool, even when overclocking. Anyway we have no problem suggesting this memory kit to anyone who needs a 2x2GB module, especialy if if you are running any x64 operating system. The modules are available for $160, and hopefully they will become your companion for quite some time. Nice product OCZ."
