"The real beauty of overclocking is when you can get much higher performance for essentially little more money than what you'd pay for using stock parts. Well, the OCZ Reapers sure look great, so chalk one up in that department. And as for performance, considering this kit is rated at 1333MHz, being able to hit 1800MHz at 8-8-8-33 (1.875v) and 2000MHz at 9-9-9-35 (1.9v), this is nothing short of outstanding. Glancing at comparable modules at major online retailers, we see that these Reapers come in at a fantastic price, especially with DDR3 prices overall continuing to drop. The bottom line here is these modules look very slick, keep cool, and overclock like a dream. The price of these sticks is extremely competitive, and given their performance, you really can’t do much better than this. The OCZ Reaper DDR3-1333 kit offers excellent performance and overclockability in a cool package for enthusiasts at an attractive price. "Considering this kit is rated at 1333MHz we were able to hit well over that speed at 1.6v. We were able to hit 1740MHz at 7-7-7-20 and 1800MHz at 9-9-9-24. For the more adventurous users, we set the voltage to 2.1v and were able to reach an astounding 1900MHz at 7-7-7-20 and 1990MHz at 9-9-9-24. This one's easy. OCZ's Reaper HPC 2GB DDR3-1333 kit was built with great quality in mind, it's performance was right where it should be, and it overclocked like crazy. Price wise, it's higher than the average price of 1333MHz DDR3, but it's cheaper than the average 1600MHz DDR3. This kit could have easily been labelled as a 1600MHz part though."

"When considering different types of memory, I look at three main factors: performance, overclockability, and price. Looking at the 2 gig OCZ Reaper DDR3 kit, this memory has it all. In the performance section, we see that this OCZ kit consistently outperformed a similar kit by Aeneon. Across the board we see better bandwidth times. This is no doubt due in part to the tighter timings, but also to the general quality of the memory. Although the SPD doesn't speak to the advertised speeds, the RAM runs perfectly at those manual settings. Overclocking the kit was a breeze until I hit a wall at about 1500MHz. Keeping in mind that this is a kit aimed towards overclockers on a specific budget, it certainly does well."
