OCZ Ultra 5+ uses three unique shapes and sizes of pure silver particles to maximize particle-to-particle contact area and thermal transfer.

High-Density:

OCZ Ultra 5+ contains over 88% thermally Conductive filler by weight. In addition to micronized silver, Ultra 5+ also contains sub-micron zinc oxide, aluminum oxide and boron nitride particles. These thermally-enhanced ceramic particles improve the compound's performance and long-term stability.

The results basically speak for themselves. The biggest difference in load temperatures was 3C; idle temperature was 5C. Many people care enough about shedding a couple of degrees to go out and buy the pastes. If you do, I would recommend Ceramique or OCZ ultra II. Ceramique and OCZ Ultra II had the lowest temperatures in both load and idle. But it is due to the lack of conductivity, and because neither one will dry up, that I would really recommend them. A tube of good thermal paste will last you for quite a few cpus and maybe a few video cards too.

As we can see by these scores, the Ultra 2 performed better than the AS3 under both idle and full load conditions. It is apparent that OCZ has put a lot of time and thought into making their Ultra2 the best silver thermal compound on the market.

As you can see from the testing results, OCZ has successfully entered the thermal paste game. With an average temp of 1°C cooler than Ceramique, OCZ Ultra II is a great thermal paste. This paste is not electrically conductive and gives 1°C cooler temperatures than a leading competitor (AS Ceramique). I absolutely recommend this thermal paste to anyone who knows how to use it.

Even though the Ultra Silver 2 seemed to have its faults at the beginning, it pulled through at the end. I have no problems recommending this compound to anybody. And at one dollar cheaper than AS3 on newegg.com, and not electrically conductive, you?ve got a clear winner here.

While the OCZ Ultra II was a bit thicker, it still made easy work of an overclocked Athlon XP. This added texture will make it ideal for use with GPU/VPU cores on video cards.
