Club Overclocker "OCZ's new Alchemy Series Elixir Gaming Keyboards are pretty damn cool. With features like membrane coated keys, programmable macro keys, easy to use software, spare set of keys, and a great feel, I would have expected this keyboard to retail for twice the asking price. OCZ has done a great job of cramming all of these features into a keyboard that fits right into the average gamers budget. The Elixir gaming keyboard is an great keyboard for an awesome price."

OverClock Intelligence Agency The OCZ Alchemy Elixir is a decent, high quality keyboard. Each of the function keys seem to work as described, the browser keys are handy for navigating around the web, and the multimedia keys are useful for audio or video playback. All of the keys have a soft but precise feel to them, registering each keystroke accurately and without much effort. The heel rest provides a comfortable, non-slip surface for your hands that keeps the wrists slightly elevated, resulting in less strain and fatigue. At just $29.99 retail, it doesn't cost any more than most standard wired keyboards, and you get the added functionality of the special multimedia, browser and macro keys, plus software profiles and other custom programmable keys.”

Dragon Steel Mods "OCZ has brought quality, professional gaming keyboards down to budget level with the introduction of the Elixir Series of keyboards. Through the software you can set your in-game Macros or set the keys to other functions if need be, you can also create profiles as well that will allow you to save and then switch between then for different games. The software will allow you to almost fully configure every key on the keyboard. The OCZ Elixir keyboard might be budget priced but it can easily hold it's own against keyboards that cost two to three times as much and even has more features than some of those more expensive keyboards do. If you're looking for a great gaming and excellent all around keyboard I can definitely recommend you take a look at the Elixir."

Techgage "OCZ's Alchemy Elixir actually surprised me with not only smooth keystrokes but quiet ones as well. One of the reasons keystrokes flow so naturally was due to the fact OCZ has a rubber covering coated over the keys. This creates the smooth touch that I have grown to love the more I use the board. This is a great keyboard to look into if you want a quality product that won't break your wallet. OCZ mixes style, features, and affordability to create the Elixir. I was very happy with Elixir after several hours of testing and felt that it was just as comfortable as any other keyboard that I have gamed on over the years. OCZ has really stepped up to the plate with this one, and I'm excited to see what else they have in store for gamers in the future in the Alchemy line. Whether your building your first gaming PC or have been a hardcore gamer for years, this board has something to offer for anyone who's looking for a solid gaming experience."

Overclockers Pulse "For a budget gaming keyboard the OCZ Elixir is truly a winner. The exceptional craftsmanship and features for such a low price make it an excellent choice for any would be gamer looking for something a little above the standard keyboard layout. It is a keyboard I would recommend, the quality is excellent, the features are excellent, the price is excellent, and more importantly, it feels right when you use the keys. For 29.99 where are you gonna find a keyboard that can do that?"

Phoronix "OCZ Technology doesn't advertise this keyboard as being Linux supportive, but it had in fact worked for the core functionality. The construction of this keyboard is quite reliable. The casing is made of plastic but when it comes to the keys they all have a rubberized coating and use membrane tactile switches. What had surprised us most about this keyboard, however, is its price. After looking at this product, it will be very interesting to see what other gaming products OCZ Technology brings to the Alchemy series."

i4U News "The software for binding macros to keys on the keyboard is very easy-to-use, and very self-explanatory. One thing I have found on every gaming keyboard that I have ever owned is that after using it 8 to 10 hours a day five days a week simply typing -- not even counting gaming -- the keys start to wear after a while. To remedy this OCZ actually includes extra key tops to replace the most commonly used keys. Extra keys are a feature I have yet to see much more expensive gaming keyboards on the market offer. The keys have a decent tactile feel, and offer a slight audible click when pressed. If you're a gamer on a very tight budget looking for a gaming keyboard, the OCZ Elixir is certainly worth a look."

Virtual-Hideout "We tested this keyboard both for gaming and regular desktop usage. Tactile feel and feedback were very good and the rubber-coated keys gave a unique and nice feeling that we've come to be quite fond of. Overall, the OCZ Elixir is a solid keyboard at a very good price. We're very picky about our keyboards. The Elixir is anything but average, with the plethora of additional functionality provided. For those that don't feel like paying too much for a keyboard, the OCZ Elixir is a solid buy."

Hardware Secrets "We had some chemistry going between the Elixir and our playing experience. The keys were easily programmed to our liking and soon we faced some intense Team Fortress 2 multiplayer action. The rubberized keyboard responded with precision and smoothness during several hours of gameplay. The keyboard’s main selling point is its relative low price. It’s still a good product for users on a budget. Plus the inclusion of a set of spare keys will definitely ensures that the Elixir keeps on brewing."

Icrontic "OCZ shows attention to gamers in a fresh way: they've included a replacement set of WASD, shift, space bar, and arrow keys right in the box. Clearly, OCZ knows what keys we'll be abusing the most. One interesting point is the menu key, which OCZ currently allows you to set as the normal right-click option, or a direct link to the configuration software. That way, a single keystroke takes you back to the utility to correct or create macros. Each individual key can also be remapped to any other single key, but cannot be assigned to macros."

Hardware Logic "Given OCZ's track record for quality products, we had high hopes for the Elixir. And with it's smart layout and manifold features, it didn't disappoint. 10 macro keys and 3 profiles easily accommodate those who aren't tied to a single game. We were also happy to see the media and web keys present, as these are often overlooked on gaming products. The rubberized keys feel great, and there are even spares for those that receive the most attention. Combined with an impressive feature set, the Elixir makes a suitable choice for the gamer on a budget."

Viperlair "The look of the Elixir is very sleek and stylish, the top and sides have a mirror black finish and the wrist rest has a leather look finish to it. The feel of the keys is just about perfect, I personally dont like mushy keys, I like to feel a little resistence to a keypress. There is a specialty keyboard for just about everything these days, as with all things this usually comes with a larger price. The Elixir suprised me in every way possible, it looks great and is well made, it is more customizeable then other higher priced keyboards I've seen, it is extremely simple to set up and use and it does all of this for about the same cost as a quality standard keyboard. A lot of times a company will put out a "budget" product and it feels cheap, thats not the case with the Elixir. OCZ has done a great job putting together a keyboard that not only looks and feels solid, but has performance to match, all at a price just about anyone can afford. If your in the market for a keyboard with a ton of functionality that wont tap your wallet dry the Elixir from OCZ just might be what you are looking for."

Hardware Canucks "OCZ's keyboard has a lot to offer even for people in your household who don’t game as the macro keys can do a lot more than allow you to tweakyour favorite game. Regardless of what you are looking for in a keyboard there is certainly a lot to like about this product. Those rubber keys are truly a godsend when it comes to sticky fingers and it will never cost you a slipped key press. This keyboard gives you plenty of tactile feedback that even if you never use it for games it still would be a good investment. In the end, there really is not much to not like about the OCZ Alchemy Elixir. If you are in market for a relatively inexpensive, yet still really good keyboard you should take a long serious look at the OCZ Elixr."

OC3D “There are a fair few fancy tricks that the Elixir presents us with to set it apart form the average joe of keyboards. Gaming on the Elixir was a pleasant affair. After adjusting to the shape and key position, I wasn't hindered from playing any of the games listed above. The extra features it presents us with are useful and don't feel unnecessary or too gimmicky. The board could be a budget gamer's dream, or for those among us who can't bear the thought of spending £50 on a keyboard, but still want a good looking, practical keyboard.”

Big Bruin "The programmable macro keys give consumers added flexibility. Anyway you slice it gamers will be able to take advantage of the extra 10 keys on their keyboard if it does nothing more than reduce the number of mouse clicks necessary to perform a certain function. After talking with clan mates and friends, I have determined the OCZ Technology Elixir keyboard may be best suited for gamers of MMORPG and Real Time Strategy (RTS) games where having the extra 10 keys on your keyboard will help the user group and control massive virtual armies. I do expect this keyboard and its successors to become popular as the features packed into it are well balanced with the price. The price is definitely one of the strong points, as you might expect to pay that much for a somewhat generic keyboard. Given the added edge the OCZ Technology Alchemy Series Elixir I keyboard can provide gamers, it earns the Bigbruin.com 'Gaming Approved' award."

Fudzilla “The OCZ has done a great job with its Elixir gaming keyboard. Solidly built, with rubberized keys, a lot of features, ten macro keys and a very low price, this keyboard is a great deal. The price is something you would expect to pay for a regular, mid range keyboard. The Elixir is far from being a plain keyboard. It is designed with gamers in mind, it performs well both as a gaming device and as an everyday keyboard, and it offers excellent value for money. OCZ can only be proud of its firstborn in the Alchemy series."

PCkoloji (Turkey) “The OCZ Alchemy Elixir keyboard is very comfortable for daily usage. Soft coating on top of the keys is great, especially during tough gaming sessions. Further more we were very happy to see spare keys included, short cut and macro keys make life a lot easier and are also a great feature of this keyboard. The suggested end user price of $ 30 is not much for a keyboard with these features.”

Gamer-Network (Germany) “The keys of the Elixir keyboard are very sensitive and precise. For that reason this is not only a keyboard for gamers but also for users that only need it for typing, the OCZ keyboard is a true allrounder with plenty of features. You will also be positively surprised by the price of the Elixir keyboard.”

Arm3D “The macro key's are very handy...gamers such as the ones playing WOW, or mmorpg's would find a serious use for them. For general use, some media buttons are included also, for turning up volume, changing songs...for the average user who does use it, a wonderful feature. All in all this is a great product. Great for the mainstream gamer, who wants something with a dash of style, some handy features, and a great brand name."

Allround PC (Germany) "With the Elixir Gaming keyboard OCZ delivers a great mainstream product, but you do not have to do without the extras and all of that for a price of under EUR 30. You are getting additional spare keys for the most used buttons, the coating of the keys is extremely comfortable and results in the keys being quiet as well, the built quality is great and last but not least as already the price is outstanding for such as product."

Best Buy Tweakers (Netherlands) “You have a lot of gaming keyboards out there, the most known is probably the Logitech G15 however it’s not to everybodys liking. In our opinion a gaming keyboard should type nicely and be robust. Additional features are always welcome and here is where OCZ delivers with ten programmable buttons and you also get spare buttons. The OCZ Elixir Keyboard is the best buy for your mainstream and high-end gamesystem.”

PC Ekspert (Croatia) “OCZ`s Alchemy Elixir will find its users among those who seek big and robust gaming keyboard, but are not prepared to spend a lot of money (it costs around 20 € in Europe). In those terms they will find it very satisfactory. We liked a nice bundle, lots of replacement keys easy to manage software, 10 macro keys and rubberized coating on all the keys. For 20 € you will hardly find a more versatile product.”

Technic3D (Germany) “The OCZ Elixir is a good gaming keyboard and meets the requirements of most gamers. The built quality is nice and the same goes for the overall design. The buttons are quiet and precise and the overall handling is very good as well. For around EUR 20 this is a good alternative for gamers which can not afford to spend much more on a gaming keyboard at the moment.”

Orthy (Germany) “The keys feel extremely good and comfortable, with the Elixir, OCZ delivers a solid and very good feature equipped keyboard with excellent value for money.”

PCMHZ (Romania) “If you are looking for a quality keyboard, the OCZ Alchemy Elixir is the best keyboard you can choose, whether you are a gamer or work at a company office."

Tech Lobby “The Elixir Keyboard looks great, feels great, performs as expected."

GameStar (Hungary) “The OCZ Alchemy Elixir features blue painted buttons. The five buttons can be programmed to save your profile. The variations can be as much as thirty. Each profile shows small character pictograms Elixir. The Elixir is also dedicated to the everyday applications, as well as gaming.”

PC Live! (Ireland) “Few spheres of computing have driven more innovation than gaming. However, largely absent from the devices leap-frogging each other in
the quest to out-do their rivals in this arena has been the staid old deck – almost always qwerty and rarely quirky. Enter the Alchemy Elixir, OCZ’s gaming keyboard. What sets it apart from other finger-driven input devices is the addition of 10 macro keys designed
to save time and finger work once you’ve set them up.”

Spieletester (Germany) "Everything is very elegant, which is underlined by the change from matte on the main surface to high gloss on the sides and on the F keys. While the keyboard has folded legs, it is relatively low, but that does not influence writing and playing comfort that is enhanced by the rubber-coated palm rest. In addition, the keys are provided a non-slip coating, so that people with a little moist on the hands from the keys do not slip – whether in the hectic hours of office work or gambling."
