Even with this large imbalance, the voltages all stayed well within spec. The overall efficiency of the ModXStream power supply is very good. The efficiency appears to peak around 250W and remains consistently above 80% throughout the curve. Below 300W output and 30°C inlet air temperature, the ModXStream 600W PSU is virtually silent. Of course, a modular design is the ModXStream's real claim to fame. The ability to remove unneeded cables can go a long way toward tidying up a PC's internals and can even improve internal airflow in the process. The ModXStream's average AC ripple content hangs around 10 millivolts, which low and consistent across all our load levels. The ModXStream Pro serves up a higher output capacity, dual PCIe power connectors, and modular cabling. Score! It's also one of the most efficient PSUs of the bunch, and pretty quiet, too.
