OCZ Vertex 2 SATA II 2.5" SSD
Hardware-Test (Denmark) Added on: 2010-05-30
"The disk performs extremely well. Read and write transfer-rate ranges from 250-270 MB/s. Actually it can hardly be much faster because the max transfer rate of the SATA 2 standard is 280 MB/s. In addition to this, the disk has another fine detail; the enclosed 3,5"-2,5" bay. The disc is the fastest we ever tested on this site. Hence 5 point in this category."

“Make no mistake - as was seen in our measurements, an OCZ Vertex is ridiculously fast. In certain benchmarks even the drive speeds indicated by the manufacturer are exceeded. How can we not love that? A fun feature of the Vertex is also the drive's longevity; MTBF (Mean Time Before Fail) is 50% higher than its competitor in this test, the Patriot Torqx M28, which is good for 1 million hours. Actually, we have only praise for OCZ Vertex and find it rather advisable for users who want a powerful Solid State Disk."

"OCZZ1000M is a hefty supply of 1,000 watts with a Gold-80 PLUS efficiency. But the goodies do not stop here. Not only does the independent test from Network Power experts confirm that the Z1000M has an efficiency above 90 percent, it can also continuously cope with a load exceeding 1200 watts. If you need an advanced power supply for powerful systems with multiple graphics requirements, the OCZ Z Series 1000w is certainly worth considering."

"We have previously written in glowing terms about particular set of DDR3 memory blocks from the manufacturer OCZ. For this kit, the name is "Animal" and you must not let yourself be fooled with the standard rate of just "1333 MHz", which the packaging indicates – this 6GB kit can do battle with much more expensive products. Before you submit your order, you must however be aware that you select a set with the precise model name "OCZ3P1333LVA6GK“, to ensure that you receive the excellent “Animal” kit."

"It isn’t the first time we've looked at a SSD from OCZ. Other SSD models have now guested this site a few times and have gotten good words on the road. This time we’ve had the pleasure of testing their response to an SSD in the mainstream segment and this SSD from OCZ also manages to deliver a good performance. If one takes a look at the SSD market it would appear that the availability and demand of SSDs has grown over the year 2009. Whether the SSD drives are here to stay, or are merely an "in-between phase" is still somewhat difficult to judge. But one thing is certain: The OCZ Agility will probably find their place among gamers and enthusiasts."

"The heatpipes have direct contact with the processor, which is a good solution. The use of a fan-mounting using anti vibration brackets is also a nice feature. When it comes to air cooling it does not get much better than this. The OCZ Gladiator Max nothing less than an absolute bargain. So if you are not one of those persons who need flashing lights everywhere, this is the cooler for you."

"Here we can see that Slate drive is really good in both reading and writing. It is actually as high as 30 MB / s which is usually considered to be the maximum we can come up, with USB 2.0. In our tests, we see that OCZ Slate drive is on top and the overall winner at the actual speed because it does not fluctuate as much as the others. The transfer rate, it must be said, is at the top for a USB product and with a nice and discreet but rugged design."

"We managed to test a RAM kit from a producer who always surprises and this time was no exception – they were really a set of RAM that provides as promised and then some. I would recommend this set of RAM because I would never have to worry that they go to pieces. And the quality I think is worth the money."

“Our high performance testing bench requires the latest memory. Just as the 2000 MHz had established itself as the absolute maximum for Core i7 memory frequencies, OCZ surprised us all with a set of Blade-RAM, which is approved to a harrowing speed 2133 MHz. This is well above the 1066 or 1333 MHz, which are standard Core i7 with many users."
