"The Vertex 2 excelled in the random write test with random 4KB write speed of 69MB/sec. There were no issues with either random read or write latency to speak of, with average read latencies of just 0.24ms and average random write latencies of just 0.16ms and maximum latencies above more than 44ms. While SSD pricing is a hard sell, the performance improvements are undeniable, with the Vertex 2 a major step up from the Indilinx-powered Vertex on almost every level."

“The genius isn’t in the product, but in how OCZ made it affordable. Compared to a single Vertex 2, the RevoDrive is nearly twice the performance. The Revo actually outperforms our two Vertex 2s in RAID-0 thanks to the controller on the card. Do you get a standard SATA SSD or pay a little more for a much faster PCIe SSD? I suspect that many will choose the latter, especially because unlike the Z-Drive the RevoDrive is stupidly fast in desktop workloads. For a little more than the cost a single SandForce drive you get much better performance; as much as double depending on the situation. OCZ showed us that it's possible to drive the cost down. It's really the cost that makes the RevoDrive so appetizing.”

"Our tests clearly showed that the OCZ Vertex 2 performs better than the two other SandForce-1200 based SSD we reviewed (Patriot Inferno and Mach Xtreme MX-DS), specially in 4k random benchmark (131 MB/s read and write 4K-QD32 in CrystalDiskMark, the MX-DS was 58 MB/s writing in the same test, 85 MB/s for the Inferno). We can acknowledged that the OCZ tweaked firmware really performs better with small files. If you are ready to spend a lot of your money to buy a SSD, you’d better choose the Vertex 2, one of the best on the market. But we also consider that SSD are still far too expensive for the moment. Others might wait a little more to get one of these performance beast!"

"Save your money, it’s not time to upgrade to a new laptop, it’s time for OCZ’s Agility 2 Solid State Drive. The performance boost after installing OCZ’s 100gb SSD into my Macbook was astronomical. OCZ’s Agility 2 SSD has read and write speeds far beyond the traditional HDD. Fast read and write times will greatly improve performance when it comes to installing and launching applications, saving files, opening files, transferring files, and starting up and shutting down your computer. But in addition to crazy speed improvements, I loved that the OCZ’s Agility 2 is completely silent. The performance boost using OCZ’s Agility 2 Solid State Drive versus your regular HDD is night and day. Your computer will run much faster, cooler and quieter."

The 4K IOPS scores are very good, actually the highest we have received for a solid state drive!
