"When I first purchased this kit from Newegg I was not expecting to overclock it at all. Being a PC3200 kit I thought I would have to use the memory divider on my motherbaord to get the most out of my system.......was I wrong! I have to say this kit easily exceeded my expectations. The OCZ PC3200 EL Platinum Edition 2GB kit is a wonderful balance of performance and price. While rated to run at DDR400 I had no problem pushing this kit well past DDR500 clock speeds. While this kind of performance can be expected from a review sample, the kit used today was purchased about a month ago from Newegg."

"OCZ did a great thing when they announced that they were going to continue using Samsung TCCD chips in their rev 2. 3200 Platinum modules. Being able to hit 300+ MHz is something that all overclockers are looking for. For those that into overclocking, OCZ has other ram for you, as you would not benefit from this ram. Anyone in extreme overclocking this is the ram for you. You can't miss with this one."

"For the suicide-shot overclockers that have a CPU with a large multiplier, this is the memory for you because nothing will be able to touch it at 250+ with timings of 2-2-2-5. The gamers out there with higher end CPUs that also have higher multipliers will fall in love with the tight timings at moderate overclocks as well. It is hard to say whether the XTC heatspreaders are any better than the standard ones but the theory behind them is solid and they sure look much better in my opinion. Keeping the temperature of the modules at 40C with no active cooling and high voltages is definitely no luck, these XTC heatspreaders really do their job well."

"DDR started out with not so great timings and look where it ended up, DDR2 seems to be headed down that same path and OCZ is leading the pack...AMD's M2 processor will support DDR2 and that means we should see performance of DDR2 increase even more as companies try and outdo each other to see who can produce the best performing RAM on the market. OCZ is off to a great start with their PC2 6400, and judging from their past performance I can see it only getting better."

?I can say is that the heatspreaders were not even warm to the touch during full load. OCZ has done a great job with the new implementation of their XTC heatspreaders and reaching out to the gaming market. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but I believe that the XTC heatspreaders are very sexy. The use of those heatspreaders will be great for enthusiasts who want their parts to run nice and cool...The price of the OCZ Gold PC4000 GX XTC is also nothing to complain about. It is very affordable and will easily fit within your gaming system budget. Great looks, affordable price, and good overclocking potential? I'm sold.?
