Important SSD notes:
Solid State Drives DO NOT require defragmentation. It may decrease the lifespan of the drive.
Consumers may see a discrepancy between reported capacity and actual capacity; the storage industry standard is to display capacity in decimal. However, the operating system usually calculates capacity in binary format, causing traditional HDD and SSD to show a lower capacity in Windows. In the case of SSDs, some of the capacity is reserved for formatting and redundancy for wear leveling. These reserved areas on an SSD may occupy up to 5% of the drive’s storage capacity. In OCZ’s Indilinx-based SSDs, the naming convention reflects this and the 30 is equivalent to the 32GB, the 60 is equivalent to 64GB, and so on.
Rated speeds may vary slightly depending on the benchmark used, drivers, windows version, bios version and file size. We recommend using ATTO, IOMeter, and PC Mark Vantage for benchmarking SSDs.
To continually improve and optimize our SSDs, OCZ will release new firmware updates. Please visit our SSD Update section to check the latest offerings.

“OCZ Agility it’s the bang for the buck in terms of price and performance. The new Indilinx controller was a great choice, because it made OCZ reach a higher level in the SSDs market. The 240Mb/s reading and 140Mb/s writing speeds tells it all, also the 22 seconds to boot was impressive. SSDs is the greatest upgrade you can make in your computer today.”
Les Numeriques (France)
"In all tests the Agility drive shows an excellent performance. Although it is a mid-range drive, the performance is actually very close to the high end drives. Even after intensive use, the performance stays consistent."
Computer Shoppper
"With an SSD now installed in your laptop, you might notice some immediate differences. For starters (pun intended), your laptop might boot up faster. Our Satellite M505-S4020’s boot time went from 50 seconds with the HDD down to 25 seconds with the SSD. Also, if your laptop’s HDD was noisy, the eerily silent SSD might take some getting used to. You also might notice some apps loading quicker. You also might see some overall performance gains. Using our PCMark Vantage test (a synthetic benchmark test of overall PC performance), our laptop’s performance rocketed from a score of 4,951 with the original HDD, up to 7,237 with the SSD—a 46 percent performance boost."
LanOC Reviews
"When you’re in the market for an SSD you have to first get over the sticker shock from the dropping but still high prices. OCZ brings the Agility in to bridge the gap between cheap but slower standard hard drives and the much more expensive high end SSD’s. You don’t lose the features of high end SSD’s like Trim and you don’t have to worry about the issues people experienced when SSD’s where first introduced. The 60 gig size comes in perfect for someone who plans on just running their OS or games off of one drive along with an NAS or larger drive for file storage. When keeping the price in mind this is one of the best buys in SSD’s right now!"

"[The Agility] performed quite well in the larger file size testing and delivered some excellent performance numbers. In the ATTO testing, I saw write numbers well in excess of the 135MB/s rated speeds, while the read speeds were right on the money at 230MB/s - both excellent performance indicators. The OCZ Agility series drives offer performance far in excess of a mechanical drive, comes in capacities from 30 to 250GB, come with a 3-year warranty, Trim support, Low power usage, and outstanding customer support - all for a price that won't quite break the bank."
FutureLooks
"Now we get a look at the Agility and how much better it fares with the Indilinx controller. The Agility is able to produce better transfer rates consistently. That’s mainly thanks to its spirited little Indilinx controller supported by 64MB cache. Plus, the Agility’s Indilinx controller does have the added benefit of TRIM which Samsung does not. That alone should sway your decision in favor of the Agility."
Cowcotland (France)
“The OCZ Agility is more powerful than the Falcon II from G. Skill and approaches the performance of SSDs with Indilinx / Samsung chips. It is not very far from Intel in reading, while being more efficient in writing. In reading, the Agility points to 208 MB / sec average, for a maximum of 214 MB / sec and a minimum of 198 MB / sec. The flow is good and stable, with an access time of 0.1 ms. In writing, we have a 158 MB / sec average, slightly more than the specifications. At a minimum, the system drops to 122 MB / sec, for a maximum of 205 MB / sec.”
PCHS (Italy)
“We had the opportunity to test 3 Agility 60 (64GB) drives in RAID 0, with results nothing short of exciting. We matched the 3 OCZ SSD controllers integrated in an Intel ICH10R southbridge, which to our surprise had an excellent yield. We applaud OCZ for the Agility, the series that allows for high-level performance with a price (per unit) that is not too high and would stand at around 170 Euro. For a RAID 0 with 3 units, we will need to account for expenditure of at least 500 euros, a figure justified by the performance on offer."
PC WizKid's Tech Talk
"The OCZ Agility Series SSD are easily one of the fastest mainstream SSD drives which for the price point can rival more expensive Intel brand SSD's. Lets not forget that the advantages of low power consumption, shock resistance and small size make this a very desirable alternative. There is no doubt that this OCZ Agility SSD outperforms any hard drive no matter what you put up against it. If your all about having the fastest operating system and boot load times for your applications and games, or even upgrade and your laptop PCWizKid definitely recommends this fast and silent killer drive."
PC World (France)
“The OCZ Agility is a low cost Vertex and we have demonstrated throughout this test by providing performance modeled on the Vertex, just a little behind. Apart from the maximum flow, the differences are subtle and Agility already amply sufficient for any user. In terms of price, the Agility can save you up to 50 euros against similar performing models, which is not to be ignored. The Agility features the Indilinx controller, which comes with proper monitoring of firmware provided by OCZ and a 3 year warranty."
Macworld (France)
"In comparison with other SSDs in the market, the Agility is very well placed. In terms of price, the Agility can save you up to 50 euros against similar performing models, which is not to be ignored. The Agility features the Indilinx controller, which comes with proper monitoring of firmware provided by OCZ and a 3 year warranty."
Le Comptoir du Hardware (France)
"Our verdict on the Agility SSD is very positive since it comes with very accurate flow rates at all levels and it saves about 10% on the entry price of other OCZ Barefoot SSDs, with only a slight degradation in performance in comparison. In short, the value of this SSD will reside mainly for fans of the brand who want access to this type of SSD by limiting spending. OCZ has had the good idea to make a firmware manager available for TRIM allowing, when invoked by the OS or Wiper utility, a restore to a good level of performance. OCZ remains a very competitive manufacturer of SSDs."
Neoseeker
"Solid state drives are built with high performance in mind and OCZ's Agility certainly delivers the goods. Not only does it turn in some great numbers in our synthetic benchmarks, actual, real-world performance is day and night when put head to head against a mechanical hard drive. With the Agility, OCZ has the most affordable SSD built around the Indilinx controller, which nets you the all important TRIM command under Windows 7. Is the Agility worth the investment? Without any hesitation -- yes!"

"If you are the impatient type, you will like the faster boot times. After installing, some of the apps that I use on a daily basis like Photo Shop and Word I noticed a significant improvement in how quickly both of the applications launch. The difference was especially noticeable on Photo Shop. It usually takes my HDD test machine about 5 seconds to launch photo shop. With the OCZ Agility 60 GB SSD, the time to launch the program was about half that amount. Verdict: Verdict The OCZ Agility 60GB SSD is a perfect first SSD for the user looking for a speedy boot drive for a new computer."
TechSweden
"I think that this drive is something to bet on. I am now of the opinion that it is worth the money. This drive is also very affordable because it offers performance on a par with drives that are about 20% more expensive. It also delivers more performance than the manufacturer promises, which is also a plus. Do not forget that it is quality!"
ZDNet (Germany)
“In the test fields, the Agility scores very well. The copy test of AS SSD benchmarks with ISOs, games and programs confirms that the OCZ Agility, compared to the Intel G2 160 GB (Postville), has superior performance. The Agility offers convincing overall performance levels."
PCHS (Italy)
"There is no doubt that OCZ’s leadership in the field of SSD is deserved. The Agility 120GB offers excellent performance, meeting the specifications declared by OCZ and its 120GB offers enough storage space. TRIM support is also an important feature given the nature of the durability of SSDs. The cost of the OCZ Agility is very competitive, in relation to the solutions of brand competitors."
Mac Format
"The drive from OCZ performed well in our tests, and they have a reputation for innovation. And while the drive from Intel performed well during reading, its write speeds for large chunks were consistently disappointing. OCZ offers a bootable ISO that runs on Macs to help upgrade the drives’ firmware."
CHIP Magazine (Malaysia)
"We then duplicated the file on the SSD and we got a reading of 202MB/s at one point while it averaged at about 105MB/s. The duplication took about 26 seconds, nearly twice as fast as copying from another drive. We then used WinZip 14.0 to compress the same folder and it took only about 2 minutes. In contrast, the same folder zipped on a normal HDD took 3.5 minutes. That’s nearly two times faster! Now that’s what we call agile! We’ve said this before and we’ll say this again. SSDs are about performance and not capacity. Having said that, the OCZ Agility Series 60GB SSD performed great!"
JMax Hardware (France)
"In PC Mark tests, the Indilinx barefoot drives are well-placed, especially the OCZ Agility. Notice the slight difference when using the 1.4 firmware update on the Agility, as opposed to 1.3. The OCZ Agility is a very good SSD when it comes to overall performance, with an attractive price-per-gigabyte."
Game Kings (Netherlands)
"We now see that the price of SSDs, such as the OCZ Agility, is much more attractive. The line we are looking at today is the Agility from OCZ, which is more affordable than other drives and the performance level is just as good as the more expensive Vertex. The Agility from OCZ is the most interesting SSD available at the moment. If you’re looking for speed, it works a treat!”
Atomic: The Perfect PC
“OCZ Agility 120GB SSD – lightning-fast Indilinx controller speed for your OS and games. A good SSD is the backbone of any high-performance PC, burning though level loading data at a furious rate that leaves any tradition hardware in the dust. While SSDs are not particularly huge, the performance makes them worth the sacrificed space. An investment in speed now, or wait until prices drop. It goes without saying however, every hardcore user will need at least one of them!”
Hardware Magazine (France)
"The OCZ Agility is faster than the traditional hard drives in high-end installation programs. Our RAID 0 Agility SSD, whose cost is equivalent to the Intel SSD, is faster than the X-25M in both tests."
HWM (Malaysia)
"The OCZ Agility 60GB SSD lives up to its brand name by offering a read speed that beats out many of the more expensive SSDs we’ve seen including the performance SSDs from OCZ. The OCZ Agility 60GB SSD offers great performance despite its mainstream market billing. While its smaller cache size and capacity does make it more affordable and a bit more limited, it’s very fast read performance balances this out nicely. This makes the OCZ Agility 60GB SSD ideal for the notebook user looking for a more affordable SSD with all the advantages of better stability, durability and reliability than a more expensive SSD would offer."
Mac Life (Greece)
"The Agility is a very good choice for the average user and demanding user, since the performance is more than satisfactory. Being affordable is another factor in the choice for Agility. The Agility is a wise choice for the average user who craves good performance at an affordable price."
Mato78 (Finland)
“OCZ's Agility Series SSD data transfer speeds are absolutely top class, including excellent writing and reading speeds. In the HD Tune Pro 3.50-test program for writing tests, the Agility is the most significant when comparing performance. Minimum write speed with an older firmware version was 140.8 Mbps, and with a newer version, it was 106.7 Mbps. OCZ's SSD drive clearly won and worked in other writing related to the speed tests."
Computerbase (Germany)
"We can see that the calculated values are usually on the manufacturer's instructions. The Agility from OCZ surprises in the percentage difference between the advertised values and actual ATTO result. The reference tool of most SSD manufacturers to measure the max. potential transfer is currently the senior ATTO benchmark. This shows the absolute maximum that can be achieved with a hard drive or SSD. In the representation of the maximum transfer rate, the first thing noticed with testing of SSDs is that they are about twice as high than current hard drives with 7,200 rpm."
Big Bruin
"The Agility again puts up very impressive results, and it is able to maintain them from start to finish. Read speeds are generally what SSD manufacturers focus on, and for the sake of keeping the price down the write speeds may be allowed to suffer a bit. Not so with this drive. While OCZ Technology only promises 135MB/s, each benchmark indicated that this was a conservative value, and Lavalys' Everest showed the drive performing over 40MB/s better than the rated value. In real world usage the drive performed well, too. Windows 7 boot times were very quick, and there was never any stuttering or other issues."
Extra Hardware (Czech Republic)
"The OCZ Agility can be used significantly faster than the Intel X25-M in exactly the size of one page (512 KB). OCZ makes understandable signs of capacity available to the user and the support is better. TRIM, or at least a variant of garbage collection, is vitally important in the long term performance of the SSD - depending on the firmware for the SSD you bought."

"What would a list be in 2009 without a SSD? It truly has been the year of the SSD as we have seen a tremendous development in the SSDs this year, both in terms of performance as well as in terms of price. I tested the OCZ Agility a while ago and to me it has a good balance between price and performance. It excels as a O/S-disc where we can take full advantage of its fast access time as well as fast read and write performance."
Informaticaeasy (Italy)
"OCZ has done an excellent job in designing the Agility 120GB. The unit has a constant sequential read speed which remains above 200MB/s. The consistency of this speed is a virtue rarely found in other SSDs. The speed of writing peaks from time to time, but never drops below 130MB/s, indeed, it has had frequent peaks reaching up to 160-170MB/s. At present, the OCZ Agility is the drive that performs better in this scenario, always boasting performance superior to any other SSD analyzed by me until today. Highest mark for the OCZ 120GB Agility, a drive exceptionally fast and well designed."
TechSpot: Top Tech Gifts
"The OCZ Agility series is thus far one of the most successful attempts to bring a reasonable balance between performance, capacity and affordability to the SSD market. We have been able to confirm these numbers in our own tests and even found OCZ's Agility SSD matching the performance of higher end drives occasionally. In a 6GB file copy test, for example, the Agility managed to beat the more expensive Intel X25-M, while trailing it by small margins in most other benchmarks. There's a reason OCZ is fast becoming a dominant force in the market. Its Agility series further cements that position with SSD products that are well suited for enthusiasts who want impressive response time and bandwidth speed from their computer system at the best possible value."
PC Magazin (Germany)
"The fastest SSDs in this review, such as the Agility from OCZ, are faster than any HDD. The average read performance of the fastest drive is 188MB/s, which is faster than any HDD we have tested to date. Random Access times are the biggest performance plus over HDDs. When HDDs realign their mechanics to find data that's spread over the drive, it takes about 10-15ms. SSDs access random data in just 0.1ms."
PC World (Norway)
The OCZ Agility delivers absolutely good performance and costs are currently about 1 200 kroner less than a 160-gigabyte SSD from Intel. One area the Indilinx-based solid-one gets the edge is that it’s better than Intel's handling of large files. One should note that the SSD that is listed at 64 and 128 gigabytes normally should have the same practical (formatted) capacity of the 60 and 120 gigabytes SSDs, as names by OCZ. The lower price of the Agility makes this a very good buy, with good performance, automatic TRIM support and no minus points."
Allround-PC (Germany)
"The OCZ Agility 120GB passed our test course without any complaints. The newer generation of solid state disks, when compared with the previous test drives, improve to a great extent. Really fun to work with."
OCaholic (Switzerland)
"The Agility is the affordable entry-level model, with performance on a very acceptable level. With just over 140 MB / s sequential write speed, the Agility is positioned well ahead of Kingston's introductory model, the SSDNow V +. Looking at the random reading and writing of small blocks, which comes closest to an everyday scenario, one finds that the Agility 120GB is ranked well when compared with other drives. Good write performance is typical of an Indilinx-controlled drive. The Agility has good read and write performance. Firmware updates are continuously being developed, which improve their performance further."
Hardware-Test (Denmark)
"It isn’t the first time we've looked at a SSD from OCZ. Other SSD models have now guested this site a few times and have gotten good words on the road. This time we’ve had the pleasure of testing their response to an SSD in the mainstream segment and this SSD from OCZ also manages to deliver a good performance. If one takes a look at the SSD market it would appear that the availability and demand of SSDs has grown over the year 2009. Whether the SSD drives are here to stay, or are merely an "in-between phase" is still somewhat difficult to judge. But one thing is certain: The OCZ Agility will probably find their place among gamers and enthusiasts."
Tom's Guide: Tech Expert Holiday Gift Guide
“OCZ’s Agility fits the bill perfectly. The 120 GB model sports read throughput up to 230 MB/s, writes up to 135 MB/s, and sustained writes of up to 80 MB/s. These are strong numbers for an affordable, mainstream model, helped by OCZ’s inclusion of 64 MB of cache. Newly added support for TRIM commands ensures that the drive will maintain its performance in the future, unlike many earlier model SSDs. For this performance level and price per gigabyte, the Agility 120 GB is one of today’s top SSD values for the 2009 holiday season.”
Trusted Reviews
"The Agility lives up to its name, as its average read speed bests the maximum figures of all. Going by the results so far, OCZ looks to be onto a champion here. With its 120GB Agility, OCZ has created an SSD drive that performs well for a fairly competitive price, so it's well worth considering."
DinoX PC (Italy)
"As with other discs from OCZ, the Agility also offers a three-year warranty and can count on various optimization tools as well as the potential for updated firmware, through which it also obtained full support for TRIM functions built into Windows 7 and in other new generation operating systems. Compared to a traditional hard drive, we are at a level of performance and especially response time which can really be described as "extra-terrestrial"."
PC Welt (Germany): Fastest SSD Drives for 300 Euro Roundup
"The OCZ Agility 120GB is the fastest sub €300 SSD we have tested. We've seen very good 94.6MB/s read. The best result of a MLC-SSD. With it's low price-per-GB price of just €2.35 it's a very good bang-for-buck deal."
Computerwoche (Germany)
"With just €2.35/GB the OCZ Agility 120GB is pretty cheap compared to other SSD drives. OCZ promises a MTBF of 1.5 Mio hours. That is really long and quite impressive. The OCZ Agility is the 4th fastest SSD we've ever tested. Especially it's access time of just 0.11ms is extremely fast."
PC Magazine (Russia)
"The Agility SSD has a very attractive unit price per gigabyte of storage. The specialized firmware which features TRIM and Garbage Collection also provides great support to the end user."
Hardware.no (Norway)
"If we look closely at what this score is based on, can we look at just how Agility gives you the best performance. The Agilityoutperformed the Intel drive by a large marginwhen copying smaller files. Last but not least the price is more than acceptable, especially when you are looking at this kind of performance."
TweakTown
"The OCZ Agility performs much better than the published numbers shown on OCZ’s website. This was a pleasant surprise. Of the standard Barefoot drives the OCZ Agility performs admirably and is even able to beat the RAIDed PhotoFast V5 in a couple of tests. The Agility is the company’s base, mainstream product and it is able to outperform some of the competitors’ flagship drives. The bottom line;: The Agility is a very fast SSD at a less than mainstream price."
IT-Review
"Firmware v1.3 says it all. ATTO gives us scores varying from 10MB/s to almost 250MB/s (a good 10% more then Agility's box rating) for reads, and 15MB/s all the way to over 260MB/s for writes (a good 90% more then box rating at settings over 128k size). This is just insane and the drive is freakishly fast. To sum it up - excellent scores. Firmware v1.4 is - believe it or not - equally as fast. This drive is just superb. It's just as fast as the Vertex and even cheaper. So, an easy Editor's choice award for OCZ and Agility."

“Hot Product of September - OCZ Agility 120GB Solid State Drive”
Guru3D: Garbage Collection
"We've been using this Agility drive in our primary test system for a while now. It has Windows 7 installed on it yet as you can see, wasn't fully fragmented just yet. However even with 15 minutes of garbage collection there's a very noticeable performance increase."
Tech Radar/PC Format (United Kingdom)
"Read and write speeds of 216MB per second read and 153MB per second write are extremely competitive at this price point. What's more, the issue of SSD might just disappear altogether with the introduction of support for the TRIM command in Windows 7. Both the Agility and Vertex drives pack 64MB of cache and share the generally well regarded Indilinx Barefoot SSD controller chip. OCZ get involved with tweaking the firmware and it's possibly here that the real difference can be made in performance terms."
Custom PC
"The Agility finished writing the ISO files in FC-test in just 11.248 seconds. The Agility was also slightly faster at copying the same files within itself, taking 13.127. From its performance numbers alone, it looks like the Agility should be an Absolute bargain."
Hardware Bistro
"With the results that we obtained at above, OCZ Agility SSD is a truly great performance SSD. Both of the read and write speeds of OCZ Agility SSD are pretty promising with what OCZ has stated in the web. Overall we are pretty satisfied with OCZ 30GB Agility SSD with its impressive performance; greater read/write speeds than traditional mechanical HDDs and some SSDs too. Besides that with its 64MB onboard cache, the whole SSD performance is boost up and the overall system response times is increased in most of the applications too. Other great features of OCZ 30GB Agility SSD are 3 years warranty, 1.5 million MTBF and etc. If you are looking for a budget SSD...then OCZ 30GB Agility SSD is not a bad choice at all."
ZWAME (Portugal)
"Performance, silence, efficiency, and heat are big advantages with the Agility SSD, which has a more stable experience than other SSDs we have previously looked at. This is due to the quality components used by OCZ and the firmware updates with TRIM and GC. In our tests the OCZ Agility won by a landslide. After previous experiences with other drives I would personally take no risk and prefer the Agility SSD from OCZ."
Think Computers
"Surprisingly the Agility drive outperforms its advertised max performance numbers scoring 150MB/s read and 244MB/s write speeds during the ATTO test. It is nice to see OCZ trying to get more solid state drives out there to the mainstream. By using different NAND chips on the Agility they are able to make it more affordable for consumers. You are still going to see a tremendous difference if you are going from a regular SATA drive to a SSD drive. Honestly I could not find a single thing wrong with the Agility drive and for OCZ to make it affordable for consumers makes it even better!"
Chip (Poland)
"The OCZ Agility uses one of the most efficient controllers currently available, the Indilinx which provides us with great results during our tests. The Agility comes with 64MB cache and the advertised speed of the manufactures is 230MB read and 135MB write. However during our tests we saw even better numbers than this! The drive managed to get 239.4 and 209.6MB / s read and write (DiskBench) and the average file transfer was also extremely good at 212.3 and 163.9MB/s. These numbers are amongst the highest of any SSD tested so far! We also reached a top position on IOPS and scored the best results of any 60GB SSD in PCmark and Vista! As you can see by the performance of this drive, this is a leading SSD in our ranking!"
PC Welt (Germany)
"When reading, the OCZ Agility brought in a very good 94,6 MB/s in our real world tests. The reading rate of OCZ 120GB Agility fluctuated from 206 to 216 Mb/s. These are very good values. Outstanding at the speed measurements with brisk access times. The transfer performance is good. Given the low-gigabyte price of 2.35 euros, the current price-performance ratio of the OCZ 120GB Agility is very good."
MikroDatorn (Sweden): SSD Comparison
"The OCZ Agility is for mainstream users that want a good performing drive at a good price point. When we look at the write results...we are impressed with the Agility as we reached over 150 MB/s while it’s only specified at 135 MB/s."
Overclockers Online
"With the write results...the Agility blew the competition away. Even the full Agility performed faster than the new similar sized SSDs made by Patriot Memory, and G.Skill. I was surprised by the Read and Write transfer rates as these are the fastest I’ve seen. They’re twice as fast as the Corsair P64 and the full drive performs at the same speed as a new G.Skill Falcon. The OCZ Agility is not only cheaper than the competition, it performs just as well. It significantly reduced the power load for my PC and managed to put out some of the fastest numbers. Even after filling the drive several times to simulate a well used drive, the benchmark results still put the OCZ Agility ahead other Indilinx Barefoot and second generation Samsung drives."
Test Freaks
"The OCZ Agility Series SSD just blows away the other drives I’ve got in terms of Read Performance in this test. The OCZ SSD also looks to have the fastest write speeds as well. The OCZ Agility Series SSD is easily one of the best choices if you’re looking to replace or upgrade the hard drive in your laptop or netbook in terms of capacity, performance and pricing. Others at the same price point have lower performance specs, and might even cost higher."
In4 (Poland)
"The comfort of working with the system is an unassailable advantage of SSDs. You can literally feel the difference after a few seconds of work. I would have to indicate the winner of our tests as being the OCZ Agility SSD. It keeps high performance all the time. 60GB capacity in our system is enough to win the test."
PC-Max (Germany): SSD Comparison
"The Agility impressed us a lot. It is aimed at the mainstream market but doesn’t fall much behind drives like the Vertex Turbo and for that we are giving the Agility our Price/Performance Award and it also goes in the Top 3 of the all-time SSD charts."
PC Advance (Taiwan)
"OCZ Agility series SSD is a mainstream offering from OCZ, yet providing solid performance of 230MB/s and 135MB/s read and write speeds respectively. When looking at testing results, the performance of Agility 120GB is higher from what we’ve expected - matching some much more expensive models."
PC Power Play Magazine (Australia)
"While not as fast as the OCZ Vertex series, the Agility drives are a touch more affordable. Performance is excellent, with the drive topping out at 235MB/s reading and 129MB/s writing. The drive comes with 64MB of onboard cache for even faster transfer of small files. The OCZ drive is housed in a sturdy aluminum shell with standard screw holes for mounting in a laptop or external HDD case. At only 77 grams the Agility drive is a lightweight option for a netbook upgrade. The OCZ Agility series is backed by a three year warranty, giving you peace of mind on your latest upgrade."

"The good results obtained by the Agility is thanks to the Indilinx controller. These are changing market conditions, as Samsung, Toshiba or Intel NAND flash chips were used. The Agility attempts to reduce the price per gigabyte of SSDs. Firmware updates can result in better results as they become available. The Garbage Collection is a new feature which provides continuity of performance. OCZ takes a large share in the developments of SSD technology. The Agility model is also undoubtedly attracting attention in this market."
Noticias3D (Spain)
"The OCZ outperforms other analyzed SSDs. Reading and writing of data is excellent, and gives a unique result. In all other respects, the Agility has performed impressively: formatting speed (almost instantaneous the quick format), lightweight (it's amazing it’s so light), resistance (we have not thrown it out the window but it would have been nice try), stability (even with one strange behavior), temperature (at all times has been tempered) and noise (silence)."
Hardwareluxx (Germany)
"We are impressed by the great performance of OCZ's Agility, scoring a great 122.2 points. The OCZ Agility with Indilinx controller is the winner of almost all synthetic benchmarks. We were impressed especially by the fast read and write performance with small files, it really outperforms the competition here. Thanks to the bigger performance, we tend to give our recommendation to OCZ Agility."
F-Center (Russia)
"The most interesting SSD seems to be the OCZ Agility - its price is lower than the others, but inside it is a complete Indilinx controller. In PCMark05, the new X25-M again significantly better than the predecessor, but then even this does not allow it to overtake the Agility, and other OCZ models with updated firmware. When you create a movie we have three clear leaders: Vertex, Vertex Mac Edition and Agility - it is clear that to thank for their success must be firmware."
Pro-Clockers
"OCZ is beginning the SSD movement, just like they did with memory, by dominating it. The Agility series is right in the middle of the SSD line up. It has performance numbers in line with their high end Vertex, but with pricing all its own. How many companies out there have solid state drives that are rated at 230MB/135MB read and write respectively? A few to be honest. Now I ask you, 'how many with these number be had for about $300 or so?' None. This why the Agility is a great buy. OCZ's Agility is an amazing product. I was so impressed by the numbers, size and low energy levels that I replaced my mechanical hard drive. If you have to the extra funds to purchase a SSD, it will be well worth it. And the OCZ Agility should be one of the first to considered."
Nexthardware (Italy)
"OCZ part keeps its promises, proposing two drives with very different characteristics. The OCZ Agility combines all the power of the Indilinx "Barefoot" controller together with the quality of the Intel MLC cells, allowing them to propose a very fast disk, with excellent price per GB. If you need to buy a fast disk, with an excellent price performance, the OCZ Agility is the solution of your problems."
Anandtech: Choosing the Best SSD
"If you want to make the jump to an SSD and are looking to save every last dollar, the Agility is an option. I think the Agility line is a great idea from OCZ. I’m not sure about you but personally, as long as the flash is reliable, I don’t care who makes it. And I’m willing to give up a little in the way of performance in order to hit more competitive price points. If you're trying to move to an SSD at the lowest possible cost, there's finally a real alternative to Intel. We also have Indilinx to thank for driving SSD prices as low as they have been. Is Indilinx a close runner up? Absolutely. It's truly a lower cost alternative."
TechSpot: SSD Comparison
“At the opposite end of the Indilinx Barefoot scale we have the OCZ Agility, with the 120GB version priced at $270, making it for a small margin the cheapest of its kind. Priced at around $90 less than the Vertex, the Agility is only a whisker slower for the most part. Those looking for an affordable high performance SSD should seriously consider something with an Indilinx controller. The OCZ Vertex still stands out as one of the better options, as it is likely the best supported SSD, with OCZ constantly working on its firmware and cleaning software. This also goes for the cheaper Agility series, which we have crowned as the best value option.”
Atomic
"This OCZ Agility is OCZ's latest budget SSD that reckons it's got the speed you need and the space you want. Not only is it nice and roomy, it also has a very good average read speed of 219.7MB.s. It is incredibly stable. Write speeds got a great boost from the 64MB cache and hit roughly 200MB/s when copying the Crysis install file. It just felt faster than most other drives we've looked at. The Agility offers a very good performance at a nice price."
Overclock Intelligence Agency
"With reads of almost 240 MB/s and writes faster than 150 MB/s, the Agility certainly delivers excellent sequential transfer performance. Indeed, for the past few weeks I have been using the Agility as my Vista Ultimate system drive and have experienced zero stuttering or other types of trouble. All of this improvement in performance is likely attributable to the welcome change to an Indilinx controller with 64MB of cache. This controller choice alone puts the Agility easily above the majority of mainstream SSD competition. I must say, I am impressed with the OCZ Agility. High performance, low price, all around great product. In my opinion, if you're in the market for an SSD, there is little questioning that this is the drive to get. It makes very little sense for the average user to pay more for another drive."
OC3D Guide: Clone Your Notebook Hard Drive to SSD
"By now most of us will be fully aware of the benefits that using a Solid State Disk in place of a traditional mechanical Hard Disks brings. Improved performance, diminished noise levels, cooler operation and lower power consumption. First and foremost you're going to need an SSD! There's literally hundreds out there to choose from these days with prices ranging from just over £100 to well over £500 depending on the size and performance you are looking for. Today I'm going to be using the recently released OCZ Agility 120GB SSD..."
Viperlair
"For a SSD, we feel the price is very good as the OCZ Agility rings in slightly cheaper than competing drives. Of course, comparing price per Gigabyte to a mechanical desktop hard drive will paint a different picture, but it is no secret both drives are in completely different classes. If you’re looking for a speedy drive to make your new primary partition, the OCZ Agility should be on your short list. It is fast, as well as consistently speedy for the last several weeks."
PC DIY (Taiwan)
“OCZ Agility 120GB drive scored read and write 238.3MB/s and 136.3MB/s respectively without any issues with XP/Vista/7 OS – Editor’s Choice”
Hardware Logic
"As you can see, the fastest consumer HDD is no match for OCZ Agility Series SSD. In almost every test, this drive dominates and sometimes doubles the Velociraptor's read/write performance scores. The Agility Series is definitely the drive to own and is backed with a 2 year warranty. Enthusiasts who have made up their minds on an SSD upgrade have a lot of options...we highly recommend OCZ's Agility Series 120GB SSD as the best value for your money."
Phoronix
"Its performance is great, there is support for RAID, 2.5" Serial ATA 2.0 support, there is 64MB of onboard cache, and the name is backed by the very reputable OCZ Technology name. The Agility SSDs are another winner from OCZ Technology that does deserve our Editor's Choice Award."
Ferra Labs (Russia)
"Of the current model range, the best combination of price and quality for a SSD drive is the OCZ Agility. We award this drive the Editors' Choice award. The Agility is the absolute leader in testing records in mainstream storage, beating not only its older brother, the Vertex, but also the drive from Intel."
CD Freaks
“We can clearly see the OCZ Technology Agility series 120GB SSD is the fastest reading drive. The sequential reading and writing speeds on the OCZ Technology Agility series 120GB SSD are excellent and one of the fastest single drives we have ever tested here at CD Freaks. The small file reading and writing performance is also very good indeed. The OCZ Agility is the winner in our IOMeter test results. These Indilinx based SSD drives are way out ahead of our other comparison drives. Reading access times are lightning fast and applications load in an instant, making the Agility series of drives ideal as the operating system drive with all the user’s installed applications. IOP performance is excellent, and the drive is completely stable. There is no hint of stuttering whatsoever.”
Bjorn3D
"OCZ Agility drives are lightning fast and we are impressed that they remain close to the top of the charts in testing. The drives use the Indilinx Barefoot controller and we've seen that it's one of the fastest controllers out there. A fast controller combined with fast Nand Flash is a hard combination to beat. OCZ made a good choice in the Indilinx controller and did a fine job with Agility drives. Drives are a good choice for those that demand top end performance or just want to revitalize an older machine without having to upgrade the whole computer. The OCZ Agility 128GB SSD rivaled the performance of the Vertex drive and provides a better Cost per GB ratio, with it's lightning fast speed and lower cost."
Guru 3D
"I think it is safe to state that OCZ absolutely tries to dominate the SSD market, and with good success. In each segment of the market they have a product and that is just very much welcomed. The end-result is quite honestly a high-end performing SSD. OCZ might advertise the write speeds at 135MB/sec...the reality is that on average it's faster. We were impressed by OCZ's Agility for sure, blazing speeds, stunning access times and a nice cache making the SSD very suitable for any operating system. The future of SSD drives is looking good and bright, and products like the Agility as such bring a big smile to my face."
Pure Overclock
"The write speeds of the Agility are very encouraging, and do not suffer the same slowdown as the Intel drive, with the OCZ maintaining a very speedy 156MB/s. We see a clear trend that the Agility is posting some stunning performance numbers. The Agility clearly runs ahead of the other Indilinx-based SSD, and exceeds the 230MB/s Read mark and posting almost 135MB/s Read speed. Perhaps most encouraging, however, is that the small file write speeds are very good, with no discernible lag, and the random access results are outstanding. The OCZ Agility boasts both very fast read and write speeds, posting results that put it near the top of the performance heap, yet is considerably cheaper than its competitors. Add in the Wiper utility and the ability to update the firmware, and the OCZ Agility is a formidable product in the SSD market, offering excellent performance at an attractive price."
Clubic (France)
"The Agility SSD series enriches the catalog of OCZ. This is to offer good performance at an acceptable price level. The new kid on the OCZ block uses an Indilinx controller: This has been used successfully on the Vertex in particular. Agility represent for us the perfect all-rounder, with performances close to Vertex at reasonable pricing."
CDR Info
"All tests showed that the Agility series is a very good performer in both reading and writing I/O operations. After many pages of tests and information, we can easily say that the Agility 120GB SSD is a fine, fast and attractive product. We found that the Agility series performs blazing fast with high response in all tasks and without any problems. The product comes with two years of warranty and the highly good support from OCZ makes us no thinking back when looking the Agility series at a retail/on-line shop."
Benchmark Reviews
“The OCZ Agility mainstream Solid State Drive offers excellent read and write bandwidth speeds comparable to the premium Vertex series, with an exceptional 0.15 ms response time with very good MLC IOPS performance. The Indilinx Barefoot SATA controller is a formidable opponent to the competition, and it once again proves that it's best on the block. OCZ may have given the Agility series the same high-performance controller, but this mainstream SSD is packed with value and costs only $2.57 per gigabyte or storage space. The OCZ Agility is well suited for cutting-edge super-users and performance enthusiasts who want impressive response time and bandwidth speed from their computer system without a premium price tag. Benchmark Reviews has nominated the OCZ Agility SSD for our Editor's Choice Award, and can safely recommend this MLC Solid State Drive to our readers.”
Legion Hardware
“When compared to the vast majority of performance orientated MLC SSD’s the price is considerably lower. We feel in terms of performance vs. pricing, the Agility is in a good position and does offer a viable alternative to the Vertex for those looking to save a little money. For those looking to get a taste of what SSD performance is all about by spending as little as possible, then the Agility series appears to be the best way to go. What we can tell you is that the Agility series does provide consumers with a seriously good bang for their buck, and that they are most certainly worth the asking price.”
ComputerWorld
“OCZ's Agility drive was true to its name. It was very agile, with some impressive I/O performance numbers. I was particularly impressed with the ATTO write results, but regardless of which test you go with, this drive returned very respectable performance. Overall, I think that OCZ has gotten the combination of price, performance and reliability just right with the Agility SSD. With a better controller, added cache and affordable price, this should be a very strong contender for anyone looking to get their first laptop flash drive.”
Apfeltalk (Germany)
"In order to offer consumers more capacity without compromising performance OCZ has released the Agility SSD Series. Overall the Agility saves more power than other drives we have tested in the past. This SSD is definitely worth thinking about. The performance across the board is at the same level as much more expensive SSDs."
CPU3D
"OCZ Technology is fast becoming a dominant force in the SSD market. Not even big brands have managed to compete at the same level. The performance the OCZ Agility Series 120Gb SSD is truley unbelieveable. It's meant to be aimed at the mainstream/performance market, but our tests show it can easily compete with higher end models with no problems at all. By setting a price point and targeting the mainstream/performance market...what OCZ have done, is to make their Agility Series a little more appealing to consumers. And looks like it might work. I have to admit the performance you'll get is phenomenal. If you're after a 120Gb SSD as a OS drive (which I think is plenty), then I would definitely recommend the OCZ Agility Series."
